SPECIAL NOTE FROM DR. PAMELA RAY:
The World Health Organization announced the coronavirus (COVID-19) as an official pandemic. Our patients are our number one priority, therefore I would like to take time to address concerns and the steps we take every day to keep our patients safe and healthy.
Our practice follows the Center for Disease Control guidelines for dental office infection control. Before you enter the examine room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental light, drawer handles and countertops, have been cleaned and disinfected. We cover some equipment with protective covers, which are replaced after each patient. Dental tools are cleaned and sterilized between patients. Disposable dental tools and needles are never reused.
Sterility precautions also require all dental staff involved in patient care to use appropriate protective equipment such as gloves, masks, gowns and eyewear when needed. After each patient, disposable gloves and masks are thrown away. Before seeing the next patient, everyone on the treatment team washes their hands and put on a new pair of gloves.
Our patient’s well-being is important to us and our team.
We will continue to monitor the situation and following our hygiene protocols, as well as, guidance from the CDC and World Health Organization. We understand the situation is top of mind for all of upright now. As circumstances continue to change, our goal is and will continue to be, to provide the safest and best periodontal care for our patients.
